Im from a small Confederate town, with the population of African Amer icans is a rangy zero. I have racist friends, neighbors, and even family members. However, I was besides raised in church, and I know what is right from what is wrong. I would never call someone a term where they could ever get offended. Calling someone black would bother me if I were of African etymologizing, so why would I call someone else that?

This term has been around for quite sometime, and is soundless offending people. So where did it come from? The term black dates all the way tail to the civil rights movement in the 1960s and 1970s. The Black great power movement urged people to use black to replace the out-of-date negro, and many Americans o! f African ancestry started to heart the term. However, over the years, many people have found this term offensive, and want to be called African American whether they have any knowledge of their ancestry being from Africa or not.
